Lord Etherton

The Law Commission is sad to hear of the death of Lord Etherton, who was the Chair between 2006 and 2009.

Current Chair Sir Peter Fraser said,

“It is with great sadness that we have learned the news of the death of Lord Etherton, my predecessor as Chair between 2006 and 2009. Among his achievements was introducing economic impact assessments of Commission projects, ensuring our recommendations were more likely to be implemented by the Government.

“His death is a great loss to the judiciary and the law. Our thoughts are with his husband and family at this time.”
